THE WHISTLER earlier reported that COEASU had on September 3, directed some of its officials to stop their services until the federal government met their demands, which bordered largely on funding.

“For the past 10 years, those of us in the academia have been on a particular salary level, even the so-called minimum wage increase, the implication of it, the consequential adjustments that ought to have been made, have not been made.

“The negotiations we are doing with the government were unilaterally stopped; all these are marks of insensitivity to the plight of the citizens; it’s wrong.

“We are having issues of inattention to the tertiary institution sub-sector and that informed our decision of recent; Nigerian government should live up to expectations,” he had said.
