FG Urges Private Schools That Can’t Pay Salaries To Seek CBN Loans

The federal government has urged the management of private schools in the country who are owing their teachers to approach the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for loans.

Nigeria’s Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, said this in reaction to claims that many private schools have not been paid since the lockdown began.

THE WHISTLER had also reported that some private school teachers in Ogun state and Abuja were yet to be paid since March.

“Private Schools that can’t pay salaries should approach the Central Bank of Nigeria for loans to settle salaries,” Nwajiuba stressed.

He added that the CBN had several financial empowerment platforms for
small scale enterprises.
