FIFA Ranking: Eagles, Cameroun Climb, Côte d’Ivoire Falls

Gernot Rohr’s side despite missing the just concluded African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Gabon, are ranked the 7th best team in the continent.

Meanwhile, African Champions, Cameroon skyrocketed from 12th to 3rd Africa, moving up 29 places from 62nd to 33rd in the world.

Egypt, who were runners up in the AFCON 2017, moved up two places to occupy the top spot in Africa, for the first time in over six years.

Quarter-finalists Senegal, who have been the highest ranked side in the continent, dropped one place to 2nd.

Côte d’Ivoire were among the worst movers after a disappointing AFCON campaign, dropping seven places from 2nd in Africa to 9th.

Argentina (1), Brazil (2), Germany (3), Chile (4) and Belgium (5), maintained their positions are the top five teams in the world.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 9 March 2017.
