FIFA Ranking: Super Eagles Move Up Three Places, Germany Retain Top Spot

The Super Eagles of Nigeria moved up three places to 41st in the world in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola world ranking released by the world football governing body on Monday.

Gernot Rohr’s men also maintained their position as the fifth best team in Africa, behind Tunisia who toppled Egypt as African best, Senegal and Congo DR respectively.

The Super Eagles earlier in the month became the first African nation to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, after beating Zambia 1-0 in Uyo and opened a six-point gap at the top of their Group, with one game left.

On the global scene, Germany maintained their position at the summit of the ranking, followed by Brazil, Portugal, Argentina and Belgium respectively.

Poland, France, Spain, Chile and Peru, complete the top ten best footballing nations in the world for the month of September, 2017.
