Five Die , Four Injured As Truck Crushes Passenger Bus on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Five persons were said to have been killed in an autocrash which happened around Christopher University on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Thursday.

It was gathered that the accident which involved a truck and a passenger bus occurred around 9am during a dangerous overtaking.

The Commander of Mowe-Ibafo Division of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Mr Olusola Ojuoro, said nine persons were involved in the crash.

He said six males and three females were pulled out from the wreckage and the injured had been taken to hospital for treatment while the dead were taken to the mortuary.

Ojuoro said that the two vehicles involved in the accident had been evacuated with the help of TRACE personnel, Federal Road Safety Corps and other sister agencies.

The commander said normalcy had returned to the expressway, and  advised motorists to always exercise patience and desist from wrong overtaking, to avoid accidents and unnecessary loss of lives.

He commiserated with the families of the victims and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
