Former Delta Governor, Uduaghan, Set To Dump PDP for APC

A former governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has given the indication that he will soon be joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Uduaghan ruled Delta from 2007 to 2015 on the platform of the PDP.

In a report first published by Vanguard newspapers, the former governor claimed to be under pressure to come to APC.

“The situation is more from the situation on ground in PDP and my political future. I am also looking at my political future and those of my followers. I have studied the political terrain and I believe the Delta should not be in opposition,” he was quoted as saying.

He further disclosed that he was in talks with the National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole on his planned defection to the ruling party.

Uduaghan said: “Yes, I am talking with Oshiomhole, we are discussing like old colleagues, it is not a pressure, he would wish that I come over, but I also told him that I have a leader, Chief James Onanefe Ibori and they should have a discussion with him.”

Uduaghan is angling to go to the Senate and sees the APC as a sure bet to unseat Senator James Manager for the Delta South senatorial ticket.
