Four Injured In Anambra Road Accident

Four persons, Sunday, sustained injuries in a multiple road crashes that occurred at Oba U-turn by new road in Anambra State. The casualties were three male adults and a female adult.

The accident, which occurred at 2pm, involved a Mercedes Benz tipper 911 with registration number by SKA723XA and a Daihatsu bus with registration number UWN369XK. Our correspondent gathered that the road crash was due to wrongful overtaking.

The sector public education officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State, RC Florence Edor, told THE WHISTLER that, “Seven persons were involved in the crash. The injured four victims were rushed to Jesus is Lord Hospital, Oba, for medical attention by the FRSC rescue team from Oraifite Command.”

Another road accident was recorded at Alor junction, Nnobi, in the state. It involved a Man Diesel truck without a registration number. It was gathered that the crash was a result of brake failure. An eyewitness said it involved three male adults, who did not sustain injuries.

Meanwhile, the sector commander, FRSC, Anambra State, CC Andrew A Kumapayi, has admonished motorists to avoid wrongful overtaking, adding that overtaking should not be done in a bend or the crest of a hill.
