Four Nigerian Tech Startups Receive N20m For Innovative Solutions

Four Nigerian Tech startups have received N20m from the Nigerian Communications Commission to boost the fight against insecurity and e-waste.

The four tech startups are Clearflow System Hub, Aelaus Engineering Teams/Hyech Electronics Solutions, Kalibotics, and CyberNorth Tech.

The startups emerged winners of the Virtual NCC Internet of Things (IoT) Code Camp and Hackathon 2021, the NCC said on Monday.

The startups received N5m each on their innovative technology solutions on the second edition of the Hackathon 2021.

“Clearflow System Hub; and Aelaus Engineering Teams/Hyech Electronics Solutions, emerged winners on IoT category on kidnapping and banditry, while Kalibotics and CyberNorth Tech, emerged winners on assistive robotics for effective e-waste management solutions,” said the NCC.

Nigerian tech startups have attracted over $276m in the first seven months of 2021 from seed fundings over innovative roles in the continent.

The Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta, represented by Director, New Media and Information Security, Haru Alhassan, said  the initiative was in line with the objectives of the Nigerian Economic Sustainability Plan (NESP) 2020, NCC’s Strategic Vision Plan (SVP) 2021-2025, Executive Order 5 of 2017, and Section 1 (f) of the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA), 2003.
