George Floyd: Twitter CEO Gets Requests To Delete Trump’s Account

Mixed reactions have trailed a tweet on Tuesday by the co-founder and chief executive officer of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, seeking immediate reform of police policy in the United States.

Dorsey had made the call against the backdrop of continued unrest and violence across the United States following the death of a black Minneapolis man, George Floyd.

Floyd was said to have died of suffocation after a white police officer, Derek Chauvin, reportedly knelt on his neck.

But some Twitter users who reacted to Dorsey’s tweet suggested that he should begin the reform on the micro-blogging website by deleting the account of U.S President, Donald Trump.

Twitter remains Trump’s favourite social media platform, where he has over 81 million followers.

Meanwhile, others who reacted to the Twitter CEO’s post, accused the platform of allowing anti-Trump tweets go viral instead of censoring them.
