Gov Bello Bribed Kogi People With N1.4bn To Sack Me From Senate – Dino Melaye

Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West Senatorial Distract, has accused his state governor, Yahaya Bello of releasing N1.4 billion to sponsor his recall from Senate.

Dino, who led his supporters on a peaceful march around Kabba town in the state, alleged that Governor Bello gave N200 million to seven Local Government Areas in his senatorial district in a bid to unseat him from the upper chamber of the National Assembly.

The senator said this after his convoy was, on Sunday; blocked by some pretesting youth who were chanting “Dino, ole (thief)” in a video that surfaced online.

Dino said, “Quote me, Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has released N200 million for each of the seven local government areas in my senatorial district to facilitate my recall from the Senate.”

The senator further declared that he was no shaken by Bello`s moves, saying his constituents were solidly in support of him.

Meanwhile Governor Bello, in a statement by his Special Assistant on New Media, Gbenga Olorunponmi, has refuted Melaye`s claim.

“The recent developments in Kogi West Senatorial District are strictly an issue for the good people of that zone, and the senator is well aware of that. 

“He has nothing to fear from the Kogi State Government but he should know that he owes his constituents a duty to serve them. They are his masters and he should heed them,” the statement reads in part.
