It would be recalled that a group of youth had, last week, petitioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), asking for the recall of Senator Dino from the Red Chamber.
The group had written the petition following the release of an audio tape where the senator was purported to be having bribery discussions with the tribunal judge of his 2015 election case, Justice Akon Ikpeme.
But Melaye, during an interview on Channels Television, described the petition as invalid, saying it shows the petitioners were confused as they are not even from his constituency.

He further declared that he is not scared or intimidated by his state governor and Senator Adeyemi.
“I am not scared, I am not perturbed. They are sponsored by Smart Adeyemi and my governor. And I want to tell you that those who even came to ask for the recall are not my constituents and it is unfortunate that they did not even know what to do. INEC told them to go back and do what they are supposed to do,” said Melaye.
