Gov Dickson’s Special Adviser Assassinated

Ebikimi Okoringa, Special Adviser to Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has been assassinated by unknown gunmen.

According to reports, Okoringa was shot dead at his hometown in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of the state, at about 10pm on Monday.

A community source, who confirmed the incident to the Punch, said the victim, who was a former local government chairman, was ambushed by the attackers.

“They waited for him under the cover of darkness. Immediately he alighted from his car and walked towards his door, they released the first bullet,” the source said.

The source added that the gunmen ensured Okoringa was dead before fleeing the area.
