Gov Ganduje Puts Rift Aside, Visits Kwankwaso At Kano Residence

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has put aside his rift with his former boss and ex-governor of the state, Rabiu Kwankwaso, by paying a visit to the latter’s residence in the state on Tuesday.

The visit was to condole with Kwankwaso over the demise of his immediate younger brother, Inuwa Musa Kwankwaso.

Inuwa reportedly died on Monday at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital after a protracted illness.

Ganduje’s Senior Special Assistant on Social Media, Abubakar Aminu Ibrahim, shared photos of the governor’s visit to Kwankwaso on Facebook.

In his earlier condolence message to Kwankwaso, the Kano governor said Inuwa’s death was “not only (a loss) to his immediate family but to the state and the nation in general,” adding that the deceased “distinguished himself as a dedicated civil servant before his retirement, particularly when he served at the Afforestation Programme where he spent many years.”

In a 2018 interview, Ganduje identified “style in governance” as the major cause of the rift between him and his predecessor.

“Of course, there is a disagreement. It is an issue of style in governance, I think that is the major issue.

“You know when somebody is in government, he would expect his predecessor to do exactly as he is doing, but you know even identical twins cannot behave the same way. So, it is a problem between a predecessor and an incoming governor; that kind of problem is always there,” the governor had said.
