Gov Ugwuanyi Tasks Igwe Nwodo On Unity Of Obollo-Eke Community

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has tasked the newly coronated Igwe Onwuka John Nwodo of Obollo-Eke community in Udenu LGA on peaceful co-existence of people in the area.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Chieftaincy Affairs, Mrs Chinwe Anibueze, who represented Governor Ugwuanyi, presented HRH Igwe Nwodo his certificate of Coronation on Thursday.

The governor urged the traditional ruler to use his office to contribute to the development of Enugu by maintaining peace in the community.

“With this recognition, you represent the state government in your community. Ensure peace and contribute to the development of our state,” said Governor Ungwuanyi

In his remark, Igwe Nwodo assured the governor that he will use the opportunity availed to him to help drive development in the state.

The retired director of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) equally urged the people of Obollo-Eke to support his reign.

“I thank Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for approving my coronation. We shall key into his leadership to positively develop our state. I call for prayers because God gives powers. I call on my good people to alert me anytime I go wrong. I won’t oppress anybody. I will lead; not rule,” said the traditional ruler.

On his part, the former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Udenu LGA and retiring traditional prime minister of Obollo-Eke, Chief Fabian Ugwu, said:

“Our late Igwe Ben Nnamani was straightforward. We prayed for a Godly person to succeed him, and we got it. Today, Gov Ugwuanyi has crowned our aspiration, and we pledge to deliver 100 percent votes for him come 2019.”
