Governor Ganduje Reacts To 3rd Bribe Video

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, on Friday, dismissed the third video released by online news website, Daily Nigerian, which purports him as receiving yet another bribe from government contractors.

Ganduje, who was represented by the Kano State Commissioner of Information, Muhammad Garba, made the denial before the state’s House of Assembly panel investigating the matter.

He claimed that the series of videos purporting him as receiving contract kickbacks were meant to “tarnish his image politically.”

Also representing the governor at the investigative House hearing was the state’s Commissioner for Justice, Ibrahim Muktar.

The governor’s aides submitted that their principal was attending to some pressing issues, hence could not appear before the State House of Assembly committee.

Muktar said of the alleged bribe videos: “Such untruth publications was done to the Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammad Sanusi the II and also to the former Governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau.”

The panel’s Chairman, Baffa Danagundi, asked both parties to appear before the committee on Tuesday when the videos would again be scrutinized in their presence.
