He added, “Therefore, I hereby return him elected as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the upcoming election in Edo State. My brother, congratulations.”

THE WHISTLER reports that Philip Shaibu, the deputy governor, was declared the Winner of a parallel primary organised at his residence.

Shaibu had nominated Bartholomew Moses as the returning officer, in that primary. He announced that the deputy governor won the exercise with over 300 votes.

Those who voted at the primary that Shaibu emerged as the candidate were refused entry at the lawn tennis court of the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin City.

They subsequently moved to Shaibu’s residence where they voted for the deputy governor but without officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and appointed electoral committee members of the party.
