Grave Digging Now Profitable Business Under Buhari – Omokri

Reno Omokri, aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, says digging of graves has become a profitable business in the country since the inception of President Muhammadu Buhari-led government in 2015.

Omokri stated this in a tweet via his official Twitter handle on Thursday.

He said killings in the country are so rampant, adding that it is easier to count days marauding herdsmen don’t attack a community than days they do.

The award-winning writer also criticised the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, for not doing enough to contain the killings.

“In Buhari’s Nigeria, it is easier to count days when herdsmen dont kill than to count days when they do. Killings are so rampant, the most profitable business in Nigeria is fast becoming grave digging. Does the IGP care? He can’t respect Senate. His boss can’t even discipline him,” Omokri wrote

Omokri’s statement comes a day after the IGP shunned an invitation to appear before the Senate, making it the third consecutive time the police chief shunned the lawmakers.

Reacting, the former presidential aide said the reason Idris shunned the senate was because President Muhammadu Buhari has failed in his responsibility to discipline the police boss.

Recall that in March, President Buhari while speaking during a visit to Benue State, said he was not aware that the IGP ignored his instruction to relocate to Benue State during the crisis in the state.

“But I did not know that the IG did not stay in the state. I am getting to know this at this meeting. I am quite surprised,” the President said.

However, right up till now, President Buhari is yet to discipline the Police chief.
