Gunmen Attack Emir Sanusi’s Convoy, Kill 3 Policemen, 5 Others

Unknown gunmen have reportedly attacked the convoy of Major Sanusi Muhammad Asha, Emir of Kaura Namoda in Zamfara State, killing three officers and five others.

The convoy was reportedly en route Gusau from Abuja for an official function when the incident happened.

According to reports, the armed men cruelly attacked a Hilux in the emir’s convoy and killed the driver, three policemen, a senior guard to the king, and one Dan Amal, who is an uncle to the Emir.

The Emir, who before his appointment as emir was a Major in the Nigerian Army, reportedly escaped the attack.

The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Usman Nagogo, confirmed the incident to newsmen but declined to comment further on the attack.

The attack came the same day the abducted students of Government Science Secondary (GSS) School were released from Boko Haram captivity.
