Harry Maguire Axed From England Squad

Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire, has been removed from the England Team scheduled to play in next month’s Nations League after he was found guilty on three-count charge by a Greek court.

Maguire got arrested with his brother and friend after an altercation with Greek police and subsequent case of him trying to bribe the Greek police during his holidays in Mykonos.

Sky Sports reports that Maguire claimed that his sister was injected with a rape drug and would appeal the case.

England coach, Gareth Southgate confirmed the defender’s withdrawal in a statement.

“In light of this evening’s developments, I can confirm I have withdrawn Harry Maguire from the England squad for the matches against Iceland and Denmark.
