‘Hate Speech’ Lecturer, John Danfulani, Throws In The Towel, Resigns

Controversial Political Science lecturer at the Kaduna State University, John Danfulani, has finally thrown in the towel, resigning from the institution after years of running battle with the state government and authorities.

In a terse letter of resignation dated July 11, 2016, said he was leaving the services of the KASU after 5years and eight months though his case against the institution was still at the Industrial Court, Kano State.

The letter reads: “I write to notify you that I have today the 11th July 2016 officially tendered my resignation letter to the registrar of KASU in pursuant to KASU STAFF CONDITIONS OF SERVICE.

Despite pealing off my services after 5yrs eight months, my case challenging my suspension by KASU of 6th January 2016 in industrial court Kano is still on.

I will after receiving their acceptance letter, make public reason(s) behind withdrawing my services to KASU.”

Danfulani was suspended by the university over a Facebook post the institution considered a hate speech.

Danfulani had challenged his suspension by the university authorities.

“I have decided to head to court to institute three separate cases on the query and infringement of my fundamental human rights as guaranteed by our constitution, and other global and regional protocols on people’s rights,” Mr. Danfulani said.

Part of the contentious Facebook post said, “To them, APC is a religious party. Northern leaders under the party are demigods and crusaders of their ways of life. These people living in dusty villages of Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Kano, Jigawa are quick in calling you ‘Arne or Kafiri’ (Meaning Pagan) once you express your view on anything their God PMB and his brigade of small angels are doing”.
