Herdsmen Attacked Plateau While 5,000 Policemen Protected Failed APC Politicians – EiE

As more reactions trail the gruesome murder of over 80 people by Fulani herdsmen in some Plateau State LGAs, a civil rights group, EiE Nigeria, has slammed the Nigerian authorities for allegedly prioritizing the lives of the political class while ordinary citizens are left susceptible to herdsmen attacks.

EiE Nigeria condemned the deployment of “over 5,000 policemen” to protect those it described as “failing politicians” at the Eagle Square where the All Progressives Congress (APC) held its national convention on Saturday through Sunday.

THE WHISTLER recalls that gunmen suspected to be herdsmen had invaded Razat, Ruku, Nyarr, Kura and Gana-Ropp villages of Gashish District in Barkin Ladi local government and Daffo and Kuba communities in Bokkos local government on Saturday killing several unsuspecting residents.

Reacting to the ugly incident, the EiE Nigeria said: “Over 5000 policemen were deployed to eagle square to protect less than 9000 failing politicians, while Nigerians who have been crying for safety were left unprotected for Fulani herdsmen to massacre! Nigeria is wicked!”

The rights group recalled that “in 2018 alone, thousands of lives have been lost to violent killings across the country with no clear plan from the government & security agencies to stop it.”
