Herdsmen Kill 2 Soldiers, Police In Benue

Suspected Fulani herdsmen have reportedly killed two members of the Joint Task Force, JTF in Benue state.

According to reports, the attack, which occurred on Wednesday night, happened in a village in the Otukpo area of the state.

According to Daily Post, two soldiers and a policeman were butchered mercilessly by their attackers with some parts of their bodies chopped off.

Their remains were taken to the Otukpo General Hospital, Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, at the time of filing this report, the Benue State Police command is yet to confirm the attack.

Reports also have it that suspected herdsmen, on Wednesday, killed two people and injured 29 others in Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The attackers reportedly burnt down villages in the local government.

Simeon Mailaimu, leader of the Numan Legislative Council, who confirmed the attack, said cows belonging to Fulani herdsmen had invaded a farmland, adding that the community was attacked because the residents tried to chase the cows away from the farm.
