Herdsmen Kill Ex-House Of Rep Candidate While Returning From Farm In Oyo
Suspected herdsmen have reportedly shot dead a former House of Representatives candidate on the platform of the Accord Party, Dr Fatai Aborode.
A source told our correspondent on Friday night that Aborode, who was a prominent farmer, was returning from his farm on a motorcycle in company with his manager when they met his assailants.

The herdsmen were said to have shot him while the manager escaped. The incident reportedly happened at Igangan and he died while being taken to hospital in Igbo-Ora.
The source said, “We just received the sad news of the gruesome murder of one Dr . Fatai Aborode by some herdsmen.
” The deceased, a prominent farmer . was coming back from his farm around 4.00pm in the company of his manager on his bike when the unfortunate incident happened .
“The manager escaped the gunshots by running for his dare life but is still short of words.”

The incident happened just a day after the Oyo State Ministry of Agriculture held a meeting between farmers and herders in the area.
The meeting was said to have been held in Ibadan following a petition.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Oyo State Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, did not pick calls placed to his telephone by our correspondent nor reply the chats sent to him on the matter.
