Plateau State has been in the headlines for the wrong reasons in the last 48 hours.
Suspected herdsmen butchered scores of people across three local governments of Razat, Ruku, Nyarr, Kura and Gana-Ropp villages of Gashish District in Barkin Ladi Local Government.
Police confirm 86 deaths, but several reports put the casualties well above 150, in the attacks which occurred on Saturday through Sunday.
Mr Buhari is expected to commiserate with the government and people of the state. He is scheduled to meet with leaders of some of the affected communities.
