Herdsmen Killings: Buhari Arrives Plateau

President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Plateau on a condolence visit to the troubled state.

This was contained in a statement by Bashir Ahmad, the Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, who made this disclosure via his official Twitter handle.

The President stopped by in Jos, the Plateau State capital, on his way back from Calabar, Cross River State.

Plateau State has been in the headlines for the wrong reasons in the last 48 hours.

Suspected herdsmen butchered scores of people across three local governments of Razat, Ruku, Nyarr, Kura and Gana-Ropp villages of Gashish District in Barkin Ladi Local Government.

Police confirm 86 deaths, but several reports put the casualties well above 150, in the attacks which occurred on Saturday through Sunday.

Mr Buhari is expected to commiserate with the government and people of the state. He is scheduled to meet with leaders of some of the affected communities.
