In a post on his Facebook page at Senator Ishaku Abbo, the federal lawmaker noted that until the poor masses start holding political leaders accountable, things will not change in the country.

He said the country is blessed with abundant human and natural resources, but “we as a nation refused to prioritize development.”

While revealing that people of the border community prefer to do businesses with neighbouring Cameroun rather than Nigeria for lack of access to road, he said the people now feel every inch Camerounians than Nigerians and vowed to changed that.

Part of the post reads: “Today I led my staff and team of young Engineers to the border village of Mukta the only 100%  Higgi Speaking community in Fali Land of Mubi North

“I took the long journey into the forgotten land until there was no more road. We had to trek long distance and eventually hired motor bikes to take us to the village.

“How can people be using Donkeys as their only means of transportation in this jet age?

“Until the poor masses start holding political leaders accountable, things will not change in this country. Hold leaders accountable to their campaign promises

“I have hired Bulldozers to Open up access roads for these wonderful and resilient Nigerians to link up with our culture, people and market. I hope this little gesture will rekindle their hopes in their country NIgeria.
