How Amaechi Squandered N2trn In His 8yrs Of ‘Misrule’

This, Wike said, made it difficult for Amaechi, who is now the Minister of Transportation, to construct critical infrastructure throughout his tenure as governor.

Wike, who spoke on Sunday, during the 10th anniversary thanksgiving service of the Omega Power Ministry in Port Harcourt, noted that Amaechi’s administration received approximately N20 billion monthly (about two trillion naira) at the time, but failed to meet the expectations of the people of Rivers.

“For eight years, at a time that the state got approximately N20billion monthly, that administration failed to develop critical infrastructure,” he stated.

It is now a general consensus among Rivers state indigenes that Amaechi did not only work with outsiders to disrupt political processes in the state, but that the Minister also squandered funds he allegedly looted to sponsor elections within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
