The minister said, “tourism cannot die in Nigeria due to diverse culture and ethnicity. Also, tourism is the fastest way to create jobs.

“We are a country 180 million plus with over 250 different ethnic groups and each group has its own peculiarity, story and uniqueness. Therefore tourism will continue to thrive. Tourism will survive where there is the right infrastructure.

“As at today, we have confirmation from 166 foreign delegates; 26 ministers and 332 Nigerian delegates, excluding the press will be attending while waiting for other delegates,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mr Mohammed said on Friday, while inspecting the venue to be used for the even at Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, that Nigeria was now safe for the world to visit.

The minister lauded President Buhari for making it possible for citizens to now be able to sleep their two eyes closed.

“Four-five years ago, it would have been impossible to host this conference in Nigeria. I remember that four-five years ago, nobody in Abuja was sleeping with his or her two eyes closed. But we are very confident in holding this meeting here because of the success we have recorded in decapitating Boko Haram,’’ Mohammed had said.
