The assailants had invaded the Tafoki village in Faskari Local Government Area (LGA) of the state and headed straight to the village head’s residence.

Tafoki told Daily Trust that the attacked residence is his family house.

“They stormed the town around 1 am and headed straight to the village head’s residence, which is our family house and kidnapped two of our sisters.

“On their way to the forest, they encountered some members of the vigilante group and exchanged gunfire. In the process, one of the girls escaped and returned home, but the other could not run away, so they went away with her,” he said.

According to him, the kidnappers were yet to establish any contact with the family.

The incident occurred shortly after gunmen reportedly stormed Kurami village in Bakori LGA of the state, and abducted the wife and children of Ibrahim Kurami, also a member of the Katsina assembly.

The state has reported many cases of abduction in recent times and this led to the Governor, Aminu Masari, to ask the military to beef up security across the state.
