Speaking further, the vice president said the government will improve sanctions and enforcement as well as uphold the rule of law.

Osinbajo, who was represented by the Secretary, Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-Corruption, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye, noted that teaching was critical to building minds and nations.

Speaking earlier, the Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe Foundation called on the Federal Government to replicate the resolution of the United Nations (UN) on teaching Philosophy from secondary schools level in the country adding that this would boost the on-going anti-corruption efforts.

Coordinator-General of the federation, Mr Charles Anyiam-Osigwe, said the implementation would be an impetus that would help in fighting corruption.

Anyiam-Osigwe added that the late Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe’s philosophical thought on building a society free of corrupt practices was crucial to the current efforts of the current Federal Government to rid Nigeria of corruption.

According to him, tackling corruption is only an aspect of issues that undermine Africa’s development.

“We opine that there has never been development without the philosophical compass. Transcending the primitive stage of early human existence, development evolved from the contemplative insights of thinking minds in our early societies,” he said.
