The deceased’s husband reportedly neglected his wife in her pool of blood after she slumped, an action said to have led to the 42-year-old’s death.

The incident was reported to the Langbasa Police Division in Ajah, after which operatives of the police division arrested Idibie and evacuated his wife’s corpse to the mortuary.

Speaking in a statement on Wednesday, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, condemned the act and vowed to work with other relevant government agencies and non-Governmental bodies to tackle domestic violence to a standstill in the state.

The state’s Police Spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who signed the statement, said Odumosu had ordered that the matter be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, for proper investigation.
