‘I Have No Idea About What You Said,’ Army Spokesman Reacts To Attack On Igboho’s House

The 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Ibadan has denied attacking the residence of Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

Some aides of Igboho had alleged that soldiers and operatives of the Department of State Services carried out the attack which they said claimed two lives.

But the Assistant Public Relations Officer of the 2Div, Lieutenant Colonel, Christopher Agu, told journalists that he was not aware of the attack.

He said, ‘ I don’t have any idea of what you said ( attack on Sunday Igboho’s house).”

The residence was attacked in the very early hours of Thursday and Igboho’s aides and other occupants of the house alleged that the house was invaded by soldiers and DSS who they said came to eliminate the Yoruba Nation agitator.

Sympathisers have continued to throng the residence of Igboho, which is located at Soka area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The Convener of Igangan Development Advocates, Oladiran Oladokun, who visited the residence told journalists that the attack was a slap on the collective face of Yoruba people.

Oladokun, who hailed Igboho for coming to the rescue of Yoruba people from the.oppression of criminal hersdmen, said the government was after him for standing up for his people.

He said, ” This is an attack on the Yoruba people. With this it is obvious that every Yoruba son and daughter has to stand up and fight for our freedom.

” We cannot continue to be living as slaves to foreigners in our land. Those who are ready to continue to be slaves to.foreign invaders should continue.”
