Why I Shunned Buhari’s Meeting With Governors – Fayose
Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose has defended his absence from President Buhari’s meeting with state governors at the Council of Chambers, State House, Abuja.
President Buhari met with governors of the 36 states of the country on Friday, but the Ekiti governor, who is a major critic of the president was conspicuously absent.
Fayose who described the meaning as “impromptu”, said he had a major assignment to attend in his state which clashed with the meeting.
“For those insinuating that I shunned d President’s meeting with govs, I didn’t. I had my installation as Apesin of Ado Ekiti slated for today,” the governor wrote on Twitter.
“Guests were already in Ekiti since yesterday for the chieftaincy title installation before I received notice of d meeting with the President.
“There was no how I could have abandoned the people here in Ado Ekiti for the impromptu meeting with the president.”
