‘I Won’t Die Until You Become President,’ Prof. Nwabueze Tells Atiku

It was an emotional moment on Wednesday when the 2019 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, met with renowned constitutional lawyer, Professor Ben Nwabueze, in Enugu State.

Atiku had visited the South Eastern state alongside his running mate, the former governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Gregory Obi.

It is believed that the Wazirin Adamawa’s meeting with the South East leaders during the visit was not unconnected with his 2019 presidential ambition.

Among the South East leaders that the former Vice President met with was Professor Nwabueze who was said to be close to tears when he hugged Atiku, reminding him of the “unfinished Nigerian project”

The iconic constitutional lawyer was quoted to have told Atiku that, “I will not die until you become president.”

Meanwhile, tweeting after his meeting with the south Eastern leaders, Atiku said: “Professor Ben Nwabueze is a patriot and Nigeria’s foremost constitutional lawyer. In a very emotional meeting in Enugu, he reminded me of the unfinished Nigerian Project.
