The Ibadan Declaration: I’ll Champion Nigeria’s Breakup, Fani-Kayode Threatens

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, at the just concluded Yoruba summit on Thursday, threatened to champion Nigeria’s breakup if the Federal Government keeps shying away from restructuring of the country.

The former Aviation Minister said the South West will no longer tolerate the alleged situation where a section of the country keeps treating the Yoruba people as second class citizens.

Fani-Kayode, in a video footage by Sahara Reporters, said it’s either the government restructures the country or grant the Yoruba people Oduduwa Republic.

The Yoruba leaders, it would be recalled, adopted the ‘Ibadan Declaration,’ where they called for the reconstitution of Nigeria into six main autonomous regional zones.
