IGP Urges Police Graduates To Be Agents Of Change

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Muhammed Adamu has urged the newly graduated officers from the National Police Training Institute to be agents of change in character, Knowledge and action as the force seeks to reposition.

The IGP made this known while addressing graduating officers in Abuja on Friday.

“As you step out as proud graduates of this great institute, I challenge you to be the change agent we yearn for in Nigeria Police both In character, knowledge and action.

“You should employ the knowledge you have acquired towards strategic leadership that will inspire other officers across all round to the path of police professionalism.

“Our dream is for the Nigerian Police to have an excellent centre for professional studies and strategic leadership learning with a mission to become a catalyst for knowledge and to conduct law enforcement researches that will improve service delivery,” Adamu said.

Speaking at the event, the Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Dingyadi, urged the officers to represent the police “constituency in a very good light” and at all times commit themselves to the profession of policing of Nigeria.

For two months, 50 officers participated in the pioneering course of the institute to inculcate modern police practices into the force.
