Ihedioha’s CoS Lauds Appeal Court Judgment, Says Its Victory For Democracy

Following the victory of Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State at the Owerri division of the Court of Appeal, his Chief Of Staff, CoS, Chris Okewulonu has described the judgement as “Victory for due process, rule of law and the good people of Imo State”

The appellate court dismissed a suit filed by the immediate past Senator representing Imo West at the National Assembly, Samuel Anyanwu, challenging the primary election that saw Ihedioha as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the last governorship elections.

The lower court had earlier dismissed the same suit.

Ihedioha had, at the party’s primary election held in Owerri last October, polled 1,723 to defeat Sam Anyanwu, who got 1,282 votes.

Okewulonu urged other litigants still at the tribunal to withdraw their case against Ihedioha in the interest of the State.

He said, “Ihedioha’s victory is divine and anybody who truly loves Imo should desist from distracting the incumbent administration”.

He commended the judiciary for its forthrightness and reaffirming the wish of PDP members, who entrusted Ihedioha with their mandate.

He said that the governor would run an all-inclusive administration which would meet the yearnings and aspirations of Imo people.
