Ihedioha’s Loyalist Rejects Gov Uzodinma’s Appointment, Says ‘I Can’t Dump PDP For Whatsoever Offer’

A former lawmaker in the Imo State House of Assembly, Ndidi Onyemaechi, has rejected her appointment into the state’s Committee on Local Content Compliance by Governor Hope Uzodinma.

THE WHISTLER sighted a letter dated January 18, 2020, where Onyemaechi stated that her loyalty to former Governor Emeke Ihedioha and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would not let her accept the appointment.

Her rejection of the appointment came about three days after Governor Uzodinma announced the former lawmaker’s appointment, amongst others, as members of the committee.

The appointments had been announced in a statement signed by Uzodinma’s Special Adviser and Coordinator on Petroleum And Gas Matters, Goodluck Opiah.

Onyejeocha, who once represented Ohaji/Egbema in the state’s House of Assembly, said no offer “whatsoever” could make her betray Ihedioha and the PDP.

The letter partly reads: “I appreciate the love and concern of my elder brother and leader, Rt. Hon. Goodluck Nana Opiah, for recognizing and recommending my humble self for an appointment into the APC government as member of the *State Committee on Local Content Compliance*

“I, Hon. Lady Ndidi Onyemachi, hereby officially reject the offer as announced on the 15th January, 2021.

“I am not a member of Imo APC. I am a leader in Imo PDP, hence, can’t dump my party for whatsoever reason or offer.

“My loyalty as a PDP member and leader in Ohaji/Egbema remains undiluted.

“I remain committed to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and Rt. Hon. Jones Onyereri, who are my dependable leaders in Imo PDP. Long live PDP Imo State.”

THE WHISTLER reports that Onyemaechi’s rejection of her appointment came 24 hours to the inauguration of the committee.
