Imo: APC Chieftain, Lawmaker’s Aide Beheaded In Fresh Attacks

The residence of a member representing Orsu State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Ekene Nnodumele, was on Wednesday attacked by hoodlums.

The unknown assailants beheaded the gatekeeper at the lawmaker’s house located in Ebenato, Awo Idemili, and set the house ablaze.

Jonathan Ugochukwu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in the community, was also reportedly beheaded.

In a separate attack on Tuesday night, unknown arsonists also attacked the home of former Imo State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Hon C. O. C. AKAOLISA.

The attackers, according to reports, stormed the former commissioners house at midnight and set the property on fire.

The state’s police spokesperson, Bala Elkana, confirmed the incidents in Owerri on Wednesday.

“I don’t like the notion of the unknown Gunmen. There is nothing like unknown Gunmen.

“The hoodlums are criminals known by the members of the community, they are not spirits.

“We have had encounter with some of their gangs, even the ones that attempted to attack the police headquarters last two Sundays.

“I have heard of this case and we have deployed special forces to that location.

“As soon as they return, we will get the full briefing from them.

“I can’t say what actually transpired until our team returns.”
