Imo APC Guber Primary Holds Today

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Imo state will hold today, the Chairman Electoral Committee, Ahmed Gulark has said.

The primary was initially slated for Sunday, but the National Working Committee (NWC) shifted the exercise to Monday, citing logistics.

However, despite the large number of party faithful that trooped to their wards, the elections did not hold.

Gulark, while speaking with newsmen in Owerri, said the elections did not hold because the officials had arrived late on Monday.

“Election could not hold because we arrived very late. This exercise will commence by 6:30am on Tuesday.

“It will take place in the 305, wards in the state, we have nine aspirants. Let me tell you no election took place in Imo state, if people gather in the 305 wards then it is their own exercise. The conduct of this primaries is vested on us,” he said.
