Imo Guber: Ihedioha Picks PDP Nomination Form

Less than 24 hours the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP commenced the sale of nomination forms to prospective candidates, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, picked the nomination form to contest for the gubernatorial seat of Imo State come 2019.

Ihedioha who was the flagbearer of the PDP in the 2015 gubernatorial election in the state, picked the form at National Headquarters of the PDP, Wadata Plaza, Abuja on Tuesday afternoon.

“One small step for a man, one giant leap for Imo people!” Ihedioha said in a post he shared on his official facebook page.

If Ihedioha who is from Owerri zone in Imo state emerges the party flagbearer for the next year’s guber election, he will likely have to contest against Governor Okorocha’s son-law, Uche Nwosu who is from Okigwe zone.

Recall in 2015, Okorocha defeated Ihedioha who was his main challenger in a keenly contested election, with a total of 416,996 votes, while the latter polled 320,705.

Ihedioha was accompanied by the Members of the National Assembly both past and present, Hon. Hon Ezenwa Francis Onyewuchi, Hon. Henry Nwawuba, Hon. Chudi Uwazurike, Hon. Eddy Mbadiwe, amongst other friends, leaders and well-wishers who joined him solidarity.
