Imo Guber: INEC Collation Officer Arrested For ‘Manipulating Result’

A collation officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area (LGA) in Imo State, Kelechi Ehirim, has been arrested for allegedly ‘‘manipulating’’ election results in the LGA.

Ehirim’s arrest followed the discovery by the Returning Officer for Imo state elections, Francis Otuana, that the collation officer had allegedly altered results for the LGA before taking them to the state’s collation center for declaration.

Otuana, a professor and Vice Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, was said to have ordered the security men at the collation center to arrest Ehirim, who is equally a professor, after stating  that the result presented by the official was doctored in favour of a certain party.

Ehirim and one Christian Ogbuagbu were handcuffed and taken away by the security men to an undisclosed  location.
