IMO: Two More Monarchs Kidnapped As Gunmen Go After Traditional Rulers

In fresh attacks on monarchs in Imo State, the traditional ruler of Amagu Ihube, Acho Ndukwe and that of Ihitte Ihube, Paul Ogbu, both in Okigwe Local Government Area of the state, were kidnapped on Sunday.

The gunmen burnt down the monarchs’ palaces, cars and other valuables during the attack.

The assailants also abducted the youth leader of Umulolo Okigwe whose name could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report. They invaded the home of the community leader of Umulolo-Okigwe, Fabian Nwosu, vandalized and destroyed his home.

THE WHISTLER gathered that the criminals came in a Hilux van in the early hours of Sunday to commit the atrocities.

One of the abducted kings, Acho Ndukwe is said to be the Chairman of Council of Traditional Rulers in Okigwe LGA and chairman and CEO of Genesis Hotel, Okigwe.

The Imo state Police Public Relation officer, Micheal Abattam, confirmed the attacks and disclosed that the command had commenced investigation into the incident.

THE WHISTLER had reported how the traditional ruler of Atta Ancient Kingdom in Njaba Local Government Area of the state, Edwin Ezike, was kidnapped on Thursday.

Ezike’s body was found on Friday at the village market square while the traditional of Mbutu ancient kingdom in Abbo Mbaise was kidnapped also on Thursday but regained his freedom on Saturday.
