Impeachment Trial: ‘Ban Trump From Future Political Office’ – #BlackLivesMatter Campaign Urges U.S. Senate

The #BlackLivesMatter movement, co-founded by Opal Tometi (daughter of Nigerian immigrants) wants the United States Senate to seal the second impeachment of former President Donald Trump, adding that they should convict and ban the former president from future political office.

The BLM movement tweeted about this on Tuesday as the Senate was billed to start Trump’s impeachment trial today.

It urged the lawmakers to align with their Democrat counterparts and ban Trump from all digital media platforms as well as expelling “Republican members of Congress” whom it alleges “attempted to overturn the election” and “incited” a mob attack on the U.S. capitol on January 6.

THE WHISTLER reported that the U.S. House of Representatives had on January 13, impeached Trump for the second time, on the grounds that he incited an insurrection at the Capitol.

He was also impeached by the House on December 19, 2019, for obstruction of Congress and abuse of power.

But Trump had denied all the allegations while also condemning the attack on the Capitol.
