In a statement made available to newsmen recently, by the national coordinator Mr. James Okoronkwo debunked the false story by the spokesman of FOU Zone A, Uche Ejesieme that the vehicle was impounded because Mallam Abdullahi Mohammed paid the custom duty of a little over N300, 000.00 instead of N124, 000,000 noting that issues arising the from the exact tariff on the car was resolved.
Furthermore, the national coordinator decried the story saying Abdullahi was never arrested but got to know about the controversy through his clearing agent. Okoronkwo appealed to the media and government officials to refrain from being used to tarnish the image of law-abiding and well-meaning Nigerians.
