Indonesian Military Plane Crash, More Than 100 Feared Dead.

Not less than 100 people have been killed after an Indonesian air force C-130 plane crashed in a residential neighborhood in the city of Medan on the northern island of Sumatra, according to military officials.

The plane crashed on Tuesday, into two houses and a hotel in the town of Medan, Indonesia’s third-largest city claiming lives and destroying buildings, vehicles and properties.

The Hercules transport plane was on its way from an air force base in Medan to Tanjung Pinang in Sumatra.
There were 12 crew members and about 101 passengers on board the plane, the AFP news agency reported, citing officials who spoke to local television.

Air Force head, Agus Supriatna visited the crash site and told the AFP news agency that there were no survivors among the people on board. Local media have reported the plane crashed after attempting to turn back to the airport because of unspecified technical problems.

Reports says that people are trapped inside wrecked buildings and the nearest hospital is continuing to receive bodies arriving from the crash site.

Indonesia’s military has suffered several deadly airplane crashes in recent years, including in June 2012, when a jet crashed into a Jakarta housing complex, killing 11 people.
