‘INEC Told My Wife Her PVC Wasn’t Printed After Texting Her To Come For Collection’

A twitter user, Nicholas Ibekwe (@nicholasibekwe), has expressed frustration over his wife’s inability to collect her Permanent Voters Card (PVC) from the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after receiving a text from the commission that her PVC was ready for collection.

According to Ibekwe, his wife got a message from INEC informing her to come to their office to pick up her printed PVC. But on getting to the Commission’s office, she was told her PVC had not been printed.

In the tweet that has since generated over 380 retweets and 260 likes, Ibekwe also alleged that during his wife’s visit to the INEC office.

“INEC officials at my local govt just told my wife that her PVC was not printed. This was after receiving a message from INEC that her PVC was ready for collection and repeated visits to our ward collection centre,” Ibekwe tweeted on Wednesday February 6, 2019.

The twitter user said the alleged incident took place in Ifo, Ogun State.

THE WHISTLER could not verify validity of Ibekwe’s claim, but another twitter user who reacted to the tweet lamented a similar experience in Kaduna state.

Obadasa Oyedotun (@dortex4real) said, “The same thing they told me just yesterday in Kaduna.”

Another twitter user, Elugulu1 (@Elugulu1), who reacted to the tweet advised Mr Ibekwe to tell his wife to, “insist that the card is ready, threaten them and argue with them they will release it to her.”

Jobina (@jobynwa): “They told me that my name isn’t on the register. This is after issuing me a TVC (temporary voter’s card).

Cyber_Rise (@YoungerClue): “Similar thing happened in minna yesterday. They were told all January 2017 pvc applicants can’t get their PVCs until after elections… Rigging of the highest level”

Humble Sheriff (@ZERO_SEA1): “I did mine last year January they keep on telling to come back, right now am fed up of going to their office coz people that registered after me got theirs already. More so their office is very far from my house”
