Insecurity: Troops Kill Four Suspected Bandits On Kaduna-Abuja Highway

Four bandits, operating on the Jeka Da Rabi area along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway, have been killed by troops of Operation ACCORD in Kaduna State, the Defence Headquarters said on Thursday.

The bandits were killed on Wednesday in an ambush, following credible intelligence on the movement of criminals from Kachia area of the state.

According to Defence Spokesman, John Enenche, during the operation, some other bandits escaped with gunshot wounds.

Enenche said: “Acting on credible intelligence on the movement of bandits from Kachia area , troops swiftly mobilised to the scene and laid ambush. The gallant troops made contact with the bandits and engaged them with superior firepower thereby neutralising four while others escaped with gunshot wounds. Troops also recovered one AK 47 rifle and five rounds of 9mm with a magazine.

“Presently, the gallant troops have continued to dominate the general area with aggressive patrols in search of the fleeing bandits.”
