International Friendly: Resurgent Eagles Beat Cameroun 3-0
After a disappointing outing against DR Congo last Thursday, the Super Eagles of Nigeria outclassed fellow West African counterpart, Cameroun, 3-0, in an international friendly game, handing the Indomitable Lions their first defeat in six games.
The game was played at the Edmond Machtens-Stadium in Belgium on Sunday.
Goals by Efe Ambrose, Simon Moses and Odion Ighalo were all the Super Eagles required to ease pressure on coach Sunday Oliseh, ensuring he did not face the embarrassment of losing two games back-to-back since he took over as the team’s coach.

The Super Eagles took the lead in the 39th minute through Celtic defender, Efe Ambrose, after he rose above the Cameroon defence to head home a free kick taken by Mikel Obi.
Cameroon’s hopes of getting back into the game vanished, after defender, Mbia was shown a red card in the 47th minute.
Nigeria doubled their advantage on the hour mark when Moses Simon blasted past the Cameroun goalkeeper after a superb pass from skipper Ahmed Musa.
Watford of England striker, Odion Ighalo rounded off the game with a third goal in the 88th minute, when he headed home a delightful cross from full back, Elderson Echiejile to the delight of coach Sunday Oliseh.

The last time both teams met, was at the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia, where Nigeria defeated the Lions 2-1.
Both teams have met nineteen times in the past, with Cameroon being the less successful of the pair having won four times, while Nigeria boast a massive eight wins and seven draw between the pair.
Sunday Oliseh will now turn his attention to the FIFA 2018 World Cup second round qualifiers, against Djibouti or Swaziland.
