IPOB Condemns FG’s Refusal To Release Dasuki Despite Court Order

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has condemned the federal government over its refusal to release the embattled former National Security Adviser, NSA) Col. Sambo Dasuki from detention.

Recall that Dasuki, who has been in the detention of the Department of State Services, DSS, for about three years, was granted bail by a federal high court in Abuja.

After fulfilment of his bail condition, the judge sent a warrant of release to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, Alhaji Abubakar Mallami and the DSS.

However, the AGF did not adhere to the warrant stating that Dasuki’s crime affects the entire nation as he was instrumental to the death of over 100,000 people.

In a statement signed by spokesman, Emma Powerful, IPOB further lambasted the federal government for failing to release the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Sheikh El-Zakzaki despite multiple court orders.

“The most recent ruling by Hon. Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court Abuja admitting Dasuki on bail has once again been ignored, so has numerous pronouncements by the courts to set Sheik El-Zakzaki free. This flagrant disobedience of the rule of law is not only shameful but also an impeachable offence.”
