The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Monday night, said it had declared a sit-at-home in the Southeast on Thursday, being the day President Muhammadu Buhari is billed to embark on a state visit to Imo State.

According to Igbere TV, IPOB stated this in a broadcast by its head of Directorate of State, Mazi Chika Edoziem.

Edoziem, in the broadcast, said President Buhari was not “welcomed into Imo State, Biafra land on Thursday, 9th September, 2021.”’

Quoting him, “All the traditional rulers, all ndi ichie and every Biafran should stay away from any ceremony organized by Hope Uzodimma to welcome him.”

THE WHISTLER reports that the sit-at-home order declared in the Southeast since August 9 2021 has been observed despite the cancellation of the order by the hierarchy of the organization.

The order is to effect the unconditional release of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who is being tried on matters relating to running an illegal organization.
